Stepping into a Seoul subway station and shopping in a Korean beauty brand 'The Face Shop'

In the end of March, the spring weather is in full swing. But even in same March, early march is still cold. People who passing the street wore thick clothes in my pictures. 

I also went out with a long padding jacket. 

My favorite transportations are subway and train. I usally get carsick when I take a bus. If I ride a train or subway, there is no motion sickness. I even can read a book or news page by my mobile phone in a subway. 

If possible, I refer to the subway map first when I ready for a day trip. 

Myeongdong subway station in Seoul

It is a scenery of subway station of Seoul. The above picture is Myeongdong Station on Line No.4.

I went down the stair to the inside of subway station. As you can see, most of subway stations in South Korea are similar. There are a lot of shops and people are shopping or just passing.

If there are differences, the composition of the shop or daily floating population would be different.

There are mainly clothes shops, shoe shops, accessory shops and cosmetics shops. In the case of Myeongdong station, there is especially K-pop Star goods store for foreign tourists.

Seoul Yangjae subway station

This is Yangjae Station line number 3. It was built recently compare to Myeongdong station. Ine Yangjae Station are many various food or beverage stores in addition to clothing stores and shoe stores. BeskinRobbins Ice Cream Shop, NewYork Hot Dog, Cafe Pascucci, a Japanese restaurant 'Soyami', etc.

There are also many cosmetic brand shops like Lalavla which has changed their name from Watsons this year.

The face shop, Korean beauty brand shop

In and out of subway stations, usually there are various cosmetic shops in South Korea. Cosmetic 'road shop' brands such as Misha and The Face Shop have grown explosively since 2000s.
Thanks to this, Koreans can easily buy nice beauty products with a good cost.

Nowadays, Korean cosmetics are also popular among foreigners. Especailly Asian foreign tourists are the main customers of the cosmetic road shops in Seoul business quarters.
When I dropped by The Face Shop which is in Myeong-dong, Chinese ladies were picking cosmetics.

For this reason, saleswomen of beauty brand shops in Seoul can speak Korean and Chinese or Japanese both.

1+1 items are displayed on the outside shelf of The Face Shop. I guess a loss leader of cosmetic brand shop is Korean facial cosmetic masks.

I went into the shop cause collaborated products with Kakao Friends were so cute.

After a long time, I found The Face Shop offline store. AD model of the brand has changed from Suzy to Twice. Twice is a very popular K-pop idol group in Japan and Taiwan.
I was attracted to their ad poster inside the shop for a while.

I took a look mainly the color cosmetics such as eye shadow with pastel tones. I also like Nail products with light blue colors. It reminds me of the sky of spring.

If you want, you can buy various color of nail products. Price of it is less than a few thousand korean won.

The Face Shop brand store are on display as well as the Tomaru brand cosmetics. It also sell Beyond brand cosmetics if a shop has additional brand name like 'Nature Collection' on their sign board.

Kakao Friends Shop Gangnam | Dolls, clothes and jewelry, all kinds of character products are on display

Kakao Friends Gangnam Shop

Last time I went to 'Line Friends store' in Gangnam and this time is Kakao Friends Shop. 

Kakao Friends Shop is flagship stores of KakaoTalk which is a Korean top instant messenger. 

Kakao Friends Gangnam Shop is always crowded with lots of people. When it Kakao Friends Shop first opened in 2016 near Gangnam Station exit 10, I even couldn't pass well the sidewalk. It means that Korean love Kaokao characters. 

There are Ryan, Apeach, Tube, Muzi, Con, Frodo, Neo, and Jay-G as Kakao characters. Most of them are animal-related characters, such as Ryan (lion), Tube(duck), Con(crocodile), Muzi(rabbit), Prodo(dog) and Neo(Cat). The most popular Kacao character is Ryan (I thought it was Bear at first, but it was a lion.)

KakaoFriends Gangnam Shop have 3 floors. First floor at the door decorated a big 'Lucky 2018' bag with Kakao dolls like Ryan, Apeach and Tube.

On the first floor, various Kacao cotton dolls, figures and toys are on display. Kakao mobile phon accessories and stationery are also pretty. I personally like Kakao car toys and character notebooks.

I think there is a pleasure to collect Kakao figures because the characters have different poses and facial expressions.

Frodo and Neo, Ryan and Apeach are couples? They have a love atmosphere. Even Love point rings are shining near the dolls.

Other items such as coin purses, pouches, cloth bags are also on sale on the first floor.

Kokao brand jewelry and beauty products such as hair strings, necklaces and earrings are also available. There are so many kinds of Characeter goods. Tumbler and cups look like bagic items.

I moved to the third floor passing Ryan and Apeach aromatic products. There is a Ryan Cafe on the third floor of the Gangnam Kakao Friends Store.

You can order a variety of drinks and desserts as well as rest your tired legs. Ryan Mango Frappe and Ice Creams, Ryan Chocolate Cupcake, Apeach Strawberry Cupcake, Ryan Chocolate Macaroon, Apeach Raspberry Macaroon, etc. They are so cute to just eat.

Ryan mood lighting is looking out the window to Gangnam street. Inside the cafe, cushions and blanket products are displayed.

Line Friends Cafe & Store in Gangnam Garosugil, Seoul

I stopped by 'Line Friends Cafe & Store' in Gangnam Garosugil, Seoul. There are a lot of character products which make Line messenger more fun.

It is not my responsibility to open your wallet without realizing it. I came close to squandering my all money inside my wallet when I went sightseeing in  Line Friends Cafe & Store.

Brown doll which is the most popular character

There is a huse Brown doll from the entrance of Line Friends Store. Brown is the most popular character in Line Friends and Ryan is the most popular character in Kakao Friends. Both are representative characters of Korean big messenger company. Ironically, Brown and Ryan are taciturn.

Many people like to take pictures in front of the big Brown doll. When the Linefriends cafe & store opened on the first in Gangnam Garosugil, I had to wait a long line to take a picture in front of it. When people drive, still I have to wait a long time to take a picture. But such a big cute bear doll! It is worth to wait.

There are a variety of Line Friend products available. I would like to buy a Brown neck pillow for my trip.

Line Friends Store consists of two floors above ground and one underground floor. A brown doll standing in front of the stairs.

The second floor is a photo zone where you can take pictures. The first floor is the shop you just saw, and the first floor is the Line friends cafe. But you can buy the product anywhere and you can take pictures anywhere. Especially where and how to take pictures. Even at least the background is definitely cute.

I hesitated in front of the painted hood tee. If the wallet was not a light month, I might have bought it.

Now the photo zone has come up to the second floor. At the entrance of the second floor, it explains the line artificial intelligent speaker. I heard the explanation for a moment, but it was really amazing.

It was Line friends cafe & store which I fell in charm of cute Line friend. I would like to buy a brown hoodie and a bowl set when it comes time for my salary day. I saw Line Friends Store well.

Watching the play 'TocToC' in Seoul Daehak-ro where the mecca of Korean theaters

Seoul Daehak-ro is the mecca of Korean plays. Everyday many people visit Daehak-ro to watch plays and performances in a theater. 

(Especially 20s and 30s women in South Korea are like to watch plays.) 

I got two tickets of the play 'TocToC', so went to Daehak-ro. It's been a while since I watched the play 'While You Were Sleeping'.

TocToC is more easier to laugh than 'While You Were Sleeping' cuase it's not like 'Korean Sinpa'. 

Sinpa(Korean style compose which typical and tragic) make me uncomfortable. On the other hand 'TocToC' is from France originally. 

6 Patients who have at least an obsession meet in a famous doctor's office and this situation make funny happenings.

All six characters have at least one obsession. It's Double casting. 

I saw the actor Choi Jin Seok appeared on the day I saw him, and the other one was Seo Hyun-chul, an actor who was impressed in [Drinks and Tears and Jekyll & Hyde]. I like seo hyunchul 

actress too much, so if I get the chance, I'd like to see her again.

Confirming that you have to check and check everything, Marie (Jeongseon-a actor, personally the most empathic character I had before checking out a few times before I go out,

Bob who likes symmetry without stepping on the line (Kim Ji-hwa actor. Does not anyone like symmetry?)

I have been watching Kim's actor for a long time, and the excitement of my voice is excellent! Disease Fear Syndrome BLANCHE (I'm very excited to see this because I was so excited to be

able to speak!)

It was not like talking. Repeat all the words repeatedly (Lee Jin - hee actor, I knew for the first time that I had such an obsession).

The events that the six characters who are just before the explosion because of the obsession do not overflow in the limited space cause the laughter to cease.

The harmony of the power of script which put laughter point in the right place and the actor who played naturally OCD character is wonderful.


If you have a chance to visit Korea, try to watch one of theaters in Daehak-ro, Seoul. It will be a happy experience for you.
